PARENTS AFTER GOD’S HEART”
Text: Job 1:1-5; Proverbs 22:6
Memory Verse: Ephesians 6:4 – “And you fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord”.
Song: “As the deer pants for the waters, so my soul longs after you. You O Lord are my heart’s desire and I long to worship you. You O Lord are my strength, my shield. To You O Lord may my spirit yield. You O Lord are my heart’s desire and I long to worship You”.
God testified of Abraham in Genesis 18:19 that he knew him and that Abraham, would lead his children in the way of the LORD. Job repeatedly offered sacrifices on behalf of his children for their cleansing. Parents have a great opportunity to influence the next generation for God as they pour from all they have received from God into their children. Eli’s children in 1 Samuel 2-4 were corrupt and their father suffered for it. May parents attend fervently to the task of raising and influencing their children for God.
PRAYER: Pray for families having challenges with their children, that God will intervene and calm every storm in the family.
