DECEMBER 08: “WORSHIP”

A disposition of Worship is desirable. It is good to join in corporate worship, raise ‘holy hands’ to our God and enjoy the feelings of warmth and fellowship, for however long the service lasts. Nonetheless, there is something greater still, that is, to live our lives in the place of Worship. The Bible asks us to pray ceaselessly.  We are also asked to stay connected to our Vine, because we are just branches (John 15.5). It is possible to live life consciously and intentionally in God’s Presence, always. Indeed, it might be the only safe way to live.

We are taught that to worship, is to call God worthy. We pray, we praise and we give thanks. Is God worthy in our lives? Worthy to be consulted on every decision – however big or small? Worthy of first place in our lives time-wise, money-wise, work-wise? God leaves these issues to us. He has given to us, the power of choice.

Are you and I still treating God like a Divine ATM machine, or is He our worthy Creator, Friend, Father, Guide? When we contemplate His goodness and adore Him, we will be disposed to call Him worthy. Beloved, let us turn our hearts to God today, all day, everyday. When we forget to do it (As our flesh is prone to do) let us return quickly, reordering our priorities, to always keep Him first.

PRAYER: Father in Heaven, help me to worship you with every part of me. I ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.
