Topic: “BUILDING INTIMACY THROUGH THE WORD: UNDERSTANDING THE CREATIVE POWER OF THE WORD”
Text: John 1:1-5
Memory Verse: John 1:4 “All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made”.
Nothing reveals the centrality and indispensability of the Word of God than our memory verse for today. Once you realize that you cannot do without something, that thing become a veritable part of your life. This truth will help you to cultivate the needed closeness with the Word of God.
We are reminded that the Word of God is all-powerful such that nothing about your life can be hidden from its influences and gaze. Therefore, as you walk in the consciousness of this truth, there are at least three things that the Word of God will do or accomplish for you that will help you to sustain your intimacy with the word.
- The Word will make you: Recall what Jesus said to them “I will make you fishers of men” What do you desire to become? The word makes you.
- The Word will make you breathe: Are you suffocating in your business, finances, home, career, Ministry? We are told that in the word is life. Life is oxygen or air.
- The Word will give you light: The current darkness trying to engulf your life stands no chance with the light of God’s word.
PRAYER: Word of life, Word of hope give me strength; help me to cope in this world where I roam. Ancient word, please guide me home.
