Topic: “BUILDING INTIMACY THROUGH THE WORD: THE POWER OF OBEDIENCE”
Text: John 2:1-10
Memory Verse: John 2:5 “His mother said to the servants, do whatever he tells you”.
Prayer is placing demands on the benevolence of the Almighty. How quickly you get answers is dependent on the relationship you have with God’s word. Here in our memory verse for today, we see Mary, the mother of Jesus leveraging on the power of intimate relationship to help resolve a problem, and create a provision.
Despite Mary’s relationship with Jesus, she pointed the attention of the servants to the word of Jesus, and not her own relationship with Jesus.
In the Christian walk, your relationship with the word must come first. So, are you like the host of this wedding? Is there a joyous occasion your life that is about to turn into a nightmare?
Are you currently about to run out of something that you need to keep your life, ministry, marriage, career or business going? Turn to the word of God, locate God’s provisions in His word, and then boldly and confidently remind Him of His word as you enter into the secret place, and I can assure you that you will become “radiant and your faces shall never be ashamed” (Psalm 34:5)
PRAYER: Holy God, Word made flesh, let me come to this word open to being surprised. Silence my agendas, banish my assumptions and confound my expectations even as I press in closer to you, Amen.
