Topic: “SEEKING PEACE THE RIGHT WAY“
Text: Gen 45: 1-15
Memory Verse: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” – John 14:27.
Peace is a virtue that every human being desires and would do anything to get, unfortunately not everyone has a proper concept of the word. In view of the erroneous understanding of this virtue, a lot of people waste their resources on what does not give peace; some even go to “Egypt” in search of peace.
Once you do not have a proper understanding of your need, anything offered to you by anyone suffices. Some people are of the opinion that wealth is the answer for peace, some think it is connection, some also think it is the position they occupy in the society is the answer. At the end of the day, after getting all of the above, peace still remains very elusive, of course you cannot cure any sickness with the wrong medication (1 John 2:15-17).
Where then do we find the solution that addresses the need for peace? Seeking peace through worldly means can lead to fleeting satisfaction. However, true peace comes from God’s presence. This can only be achieved through an intentional relationship with Him and then, a lasting peace becomes possible (Psalm 16:11).
PRAYER: Lord, help me seek peace the right way. Draw me closer to You and fill me with Your peace. Give me wisdom to prioritize what truly matters, Amen.
