Topic:  “LET US MAKE MAN WITH REDEMPTION IN MIND

Text: Genesis 1:26-28; 3:15

Memory Verse:  “Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth”’ Genesis 1:26.

The Omniscient God knew beforehand that man created with dignity, purpose, and godlike capacity will one day trade all that for vanity, yet He created us. He did not do that recklessly, but “redemptively”, He had made provision for the Fall before we even came on board. Despite the certainty of man’s failure, God never aborted His purpose for humanity but made a provision to redeem us. He never micromanaged man out of fear, He allowed Adam and Eve to choose freely but not without consequences.

Immediately man sinned, God declared the redemption agenda He already put in place. Genesis 3:15, often called the protoevangelium (first gospel), reveals that even in pronouncing judgment after the fall, God declared the coming of a Redeemer: The Seed of the woman who would crush the serpent’s head. This agenda proclaimed in Genesis 3:15 reached the climax in the Person of Jesus Christ (The Incarnation).

Redemption has been factored into Creation and there is nothing the devil do that can thwart the eternal purpose of God. Always remember that the purpose and the provision of God supersede the problem you may have. Meditate on how the fall of man did not change God’s plan, but revealed it and let worship flow from within you.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for creating me in Your image and for never giving up on Your original purpose. Help me to live as one redeemed to reflect Your glory in Jesus’ name, Amen.
