JANUARY 18: “SEPARATION FOR ALIGNMENT”

JANUARY 18, 2026

Topic:  “SEPARATION FOR ALIGNMENT“

Text: Genesis 12:1, 2 Corinthians 6:14-20

Memory Verse:  “Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” 2Cor. 6: 17.

The call to separation is an age-long call that God placed on all who want to follow Him. The Lord called Abram to leave his father’s house – a land of idolatry; so, the Lord called him to separate himself from such a lifestyle. Peter said in 1 Peter 2:9, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:”

We must separate ourselves from whatever is not like God. We must also separate ourselves unto God. This means that we must make ourselves only available to God. God uses people who have made themselves available to him. We must separate ourselves from evil desire, motive, and behavior. God called us to be in the world, but not of it. We cannot avoid evil; evil is everywhere. However, we must never compromise with this evil. We must not only separate from it, we cannot agree with it, support it, or participate in it.

As we step out today, there is a promise of blessing that follows us when we separate ourselves from the world. It says, “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” (2Cor. 6:16) The blessings of His presence, and his unbreakable bond.

PRAYER: Our Father, thank you for the call to separate ourselves from the world. Help us to cut off every connection that is unhealthy and help us to cling to you and you alone, in Jesus’ name we ask, Amen.
