Topic: God’s Abiding Presence

Text: Reading: Reading: John 15:5,7-8

Memory Verse: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5 NIV

Third manifestation of the presence of GOD is His abiding presence, the word “abiding” in our present world scarcely has a meaning because we are in a mobile world, where people are always on the go. People are constantly changing relationships, jobs and even Churches. To abide means to settle down, to keep up a habit of constant close communion with Him or to remain in Him. In John 15:1-16, God wants to settle in a constant stable relationship with us. That is why He sent His only begotten Son and that by His Son’s death, His abiding presence will be with us through the Holy Spirit living inside of us.

Here, God is no longer an occasional Guest or Visitor, but an abiding or a live in Guest – 1 John 4:13. There is nothing that guarantees maximum protection like God’s presence.  Exod. 33:15 “Then Moses said to him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.” Moses, from the above scripture, was convinced that without God’s presence in his life, it was useless for him to move or attempt anything. He knew it was God’s presence among them that set them apart from every other nation.

Are you abiding in God’s presence, or you are finding pleasure in other things as Cars, houses, money, friends, relationships, Family and so on? Remember that those who dwell in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadows of the Almighty. Take that bold step to enjoy God’s abiding presence and be set free.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are my shield and strength, the glory, and the lifter of my head. I pray You continue to find pleasure in being present in my life all of my days on this Earth, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
