Topic: MAKE ROOM FOR GOD: GATES III
Text: : PSALM 24: 7-10
Memory Verse:2 Sam 5:7; 10 “Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David. And David went on, and grew great, and the Lord God of hosts was with Him”.
Gates are domain of strongholds and a place of display of ancestral tendencies, a fortress, citadel of thick walls and mighty doors! A place where Satan stakes a claim on one’s weakness and constructs rampart around it. For some it is the propensity to cheat, for others, it is being quick to doubt, and maybe worry for some, – yes everyone worries at times, but yours is a national distributorship of anxiety! Perhaps you are judgemental! Sure, everyone can be critical, but you pass judgement than the Federal Supreme Court judge. It could be explosive anger, temper, fragile self-image, distrust for authority.
Yes, you are a Christian but these habits still manifest and you can’t seem able to control them and they defy all effort and are strong enough to grip like vice and stubborn enough to hold on-hold, difficult, discouraging challenges! Satan makes it worse by sending discouragement your way! He says you will never overcome your addictions and bad habits! However, when you make room for God in that situation, you will like David, take that stronghold and your gates again! You and I fight with toothpicks, but God comes with battering rams and cannons!
2 Cor 10:4. “We are Gods mighty weapons, not mere worldly weapons to knock down the devil’s strongholds! Like David, turn a deaf ear to the old voices, ignore the mockers, dismiss the idle discouraging words and invite God through Christ. Like David, make room for the Lord of Hosts, invite him to be on your side like David as stated in verse 10 of today’s passage and your testimony will be that of victory over the stronghold!
Prayers:
If the Lord be for us, who can be against us? Lord, I make room for you today and invite you to be the Lord of hosts of heaven’s army in all that concerns me. I relinquish all of my life to your leadership. Help me win the battles of the strongholds of my life. Thank you for in Jesus’ name I pray with thanksgiving. Amen.
