Text: Psalm 73:25 – 28
Memory Verse: “ But as for me, it is good for me to draw near to God; I have made the Lord GOD my refuge and placed my trust in Him, That I may tell of all your works” – Ps 73:28.
The supreme good for man is just this – to know God and live joyfully in His presence forever. Psalm 73 reveals the profound truth that it shares: it is good to be near to God.
These words offer a refreshing perspective in a world where material possessions and temporary pleasures often seem like the key to happiness. It declares that God is the source of all good things (v. 25).
The statement challenges us to re-evaluate our priorities and consider whether we genuinely seek God’s presence more than anything. In a culture that values success and achievement, it can be easy to overlook the importance of cultivating a relationship with God. However, these words remind us that everything we need comes from God alone. We can find true fulfillment and contentment by making our relationship with Him a priority.
In verse 26, the Psalmist acknowledged that God guides. He recognized that it is only through God’s leading that we can navigate life’s challenges and uncertainties. This truth reminds us to trust God’s guidance and wisdom, even when we don’t understand our circumstances. We can finds strength and courage in adversity by relying on God’s guidance.
Lastly, in verses 27-28, the Psalmist proclaimed that God redeems. He acknowledged that one can only be saved from sin and its consequences through God’s redemption. This truth should inspire us to cling to God’s redemption and grace, knowing He has already secured our salvation through Jesus Christ. We can find hope and comfort amid difficult circumstances by believing in God’s deliverance.
As we draw nearer to God, we discover that He is not just the source of blessings, but also the source of strength and sustenance. May we always remember that it is good to be near God. By making our relationship with Him a priority and relying on His guidance and redemption, we can find true fulfillment, contentment, and strength amid life challenges and uncertainties.
