Topic: MEN THAT CARRIED GRACE: PAUL

Text: 1 COR 15:9-10; EPHESIANS 2:8

Memory Verse: I Cor 15:9 – “For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God”.

The story of the conversion of Saul of Tarsus, the relentless persecutor of the early Christians was a classic example of the transformative power of grace, which offer profound lessons for our own spiritual journeys.

It is unimaginable that the zealous Saul also known as Paul, who supervised the killing of Stephen, the first martyr and was responsible for the killing of several early Christians, would become a passionate advocate for the message he once sought to destroy. However, on the road to Damascus, he had an undeniable encounter with grace. God’s unconditional love pierced through Paul’s stony heart and shattered his self-righteousness. He became totally transformed and a spiritual rebirth fueled by the immensity of God’s grace happened.

Following his conversion, He embarked on arduous missionary journeys, facing hardship, imprisonment, and even threats of death. Yet, his spirit remained unbeatable, energized by the conviction that the grace he received was meant for all. He regarded himself as the least of all the Apostles because of his history as the persecutor of the church (1Cor 15:9-10), yet his accomplishments speak in volumes! This is a clear evidence of grace in action.

Therefore, what lessons can we learn from Paul? Firstly, it reminds us that grace is available to all, regardless of our past actions or beliefs. No matter how far we may have strayed, God’s love holds the power to transform us. Secondly, it calls us to be conduits of grace ourselves. Just as Paul tirelessly shared the message of salvation, we are called to extend compassion, forgiveness, and understanding to those around us.

Beloved, grace is not just about receiving forgiveness; it is about embodying it. Let Paul’s life be a beacon, urging you to extend the transformative power of grace in your own corner of the world.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, do not allow me to die without making use of your grace upon my life. May it never be mentioned that I am a waster of your grace, Amen.
