Topic: THE POWER OF GRACE IN BECOMING ALL FOR GOD
Text: 1 CORINTHIANS 15:9-10
Memory Verse: I Cor 15:9 – “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me”.
Grace has been defined as the ability of God in the life of a believer that makes such a believer to be and to do what ordinarily he would not have been or been able to do. It is the unique power of God at work in a believers’ life to accomplish the purpose of God for His generation. The heights a man will attain in life, purpose and ministry is a direct function of the grace of God over his life. Those who became all that God wanted them to be did not do so by their strength but by the grace of God. This makes the grace of God very crucial in a believer’s life.
It is this similar understanding and consciousness that Paul had, which made him to be an outstanding Apostle for God. Paul in his epistle to the Corinthian church referred to himself as the least of the apostles and said he did not even deserve to be an Apostle because of how he persecuted the church but the only thing that made the difference in his life was the grace of God. He said, “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them– yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me” 1 Corinthians 15:10.
It is evident from the scriptures that Paul became all he became for God on the platform of God’s grace. He even said what made him to work more than all other Apostles was the power of God’s grace at work in him. What a challenge for us to emulate! The grace of God is both central and instrumental to becoming all for God. Shall we go to the Lord in prayers and ask Him to load us with the power of His grace?
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I believe I can do all things through your grace upon my life, help me not to be idle with your grace.
