Topic: Redemption Grants Us Entrance into God’s Presence
Text: Ps. 46: 1-11
Memory Verse: “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forever more” – Ps. 16:11.
At redemption, believers experience the in-filling of the Holy Spirit. However, it does not end there; in fact, it is the beginning of a life long journey with God the Holy Spirit.
God’s presence is everything to the believer, He shows up in different and surprising ways to guide, direct and help especially in our time of need. Even in seasons of silence, we can learn from and lean on Him.
In our Bible reading for today, we see David, who wrote quite a number of the Psalms, acknowledging the power and sovereignty of God, especially in a moment of difficulty. The opening verse is very encouraging and comforting – God is our refuge and strength (mighty and impenetrable), a very present and well proved help in trouble. For anything or anyone to get to us, it must first get to God, even when it is not going our way, we can still plug in and draw strength from God to pull through, we only need to be still and know (recognize, understand) that He is God – vs 10a.
As believers, we should contentedly dwell in His presence as we walk through this earthly journey, it is then that we can successfully end well and strong and find our place with God in eternity.
PRAYER: Father, teach me to lean on You and draw strength from Your presence at all times in Jesus’ name.
