Topic: “BEARING GOD’S PRESENCE THROUGH POSITIVE INFLUENCE –
THE CHRISTIAN SOLDIER
”

Text: Galatians 6:1 – 10, 2 Timothy 2:3&4

Memory Verse: 1 Corinthians 15:58 – “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord”.

Some characteristics that soldiers are supposed to have include – integrity, courage, loyalty, intuition, respect, self-less service, duty first, discipline, honour, professionalism, mental toughness and strength, physical fitness, to name a few. Soldiers obey orders. Soldiers care for one another. They watch out for one another in battle and would surely carry the wounded to the next health post for treatment.

These are similar characteristics expected of the Christian Soldier. We are Soldiers of Christ. Rather than biting and destroying one another, leaving the wounded to their fate, we need to close ranks and learn from soldiers. We need to love one another, build up one another up, strengthen one another and lift up one another. Further, we need to understand the enemy and his tactics and fight this common enemy together rather than fight one another. We remain victorious in Jesus name.

ACTIVITY: Consider the “Armour of God” in Ephesians 6:14 – 18. “Wear each piece”.
