Topic: “ADORATION”
Text: LUKE 7:36-50
Memory Verse: “You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet” – Luke 7:46.
Adoration is a human response to God’s love. We as finite beings, created by God, have nothing to give Him. God loved us first and in our own feeble way, we want to show our love for Him. What can we bring to God, who is the owner of everything? We can praise Him, we can worship Him and we can try to please Him by drawing closer to Him. In return, God gives us a loving heart that then, sheds His love ‘abroad’ by the help of the Holy Spirit (Romans 5.5).
The very best we can do is to tell others of His goodness, so they too can come to enjoy this glorious God with us. How can we adore our Heavenly King? Well, the kings of the East brought the baby Jesus gifts and their obeisance. In this season of giving and celebration of Jesus’ birth, what can we give? Who can we bless at this time? In whatever way we choose to celebrate in the coming weeks, let us not forget to do it for our Saviour’s sake. Let us do it all, with a heart brimming with unspoken gratitude. In the end, that is all we truly have to give.
PRAYER: Oh! Come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord, Amen!
