Topic: “LOVE RESIDES WITH US”
Text: JOHN 1:1-14
Memory Verse: John 1:14 “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth”.
One of the expressions of love is that people who love, never go away whenever things are not going well. Proverbs 18: 24 says “A man that hath friends must show himself friendly, and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.” Also, in Romans 8:25 it says “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?”
John in our text today says, that the “word” which is Jesus became flesh, and “dwelt among us,” Jesus loves us so much that He decided to stay with us by making His abode with us. Not minding our condition, not minding the state of our lives. Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates his love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” In our unattractive state, He still attends to us and identifies with us. Why did Jesus decide to “dwell” with us? It is so we can behold His glory, the glory seen in the incarnate Son is the glory of the unique Son. The incarnation of the Son opens up the glorious possibility of becoming the children of God. As you step out today, may the glory of the son of God be made manifest in you so you can become like Him.
PRAYER: Thank you, Father, for dwelling with us despite our unworthiness, it is you staying with us that transforms us, help us to keep beholding this glory in Jesus’ name, Amen.
