Topic: “LOVE REVEALED”
Text: 1 JOHN 4:9-16
Memory Verse: 1 John 4:9 “This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.”
The word “Love” today means many things to many people. There are many ways people express love today. Some do it through giving, some do it through what they say, and some express love through sacrifices for the person they love. Our expression of love toward people we love may seem over-the-top, but God’s expression of love for us is nothing short of extravagant.
God showed His love to us by sending His one and only son. Jesus is more than just a token of love, His is the totality of the expression of God’s love to humanity. This expression of love is not meant to be put on a shelf, it is a love that is to be accepted to experience eternal salvation. As we go out today, please remember that the love of God was revealed, so we can receive Him, and so He can retore us and make us righteous through Jesus Christ, through whom the Love of God is revealed.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, we thank you for showing your love to us through Jesus Christ. Thank you for expressing your love to us, even when we never merited it. Help us to demonstrate this love to all we come in contact with today, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
