Topic: “BUILDING INTIMACY WITH GOD THROUGH MEDITATION: THE BLESSEDNESS OF MEDITATION”

Text: Psalm 1:1-3

Memory Verse: Psalm 1:2 – “But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night”

From creation, God’s commitment to blessing man has never being in doubt. In Genesis 1:26 we are told that God blessed man, and again in Genesis 9:1 we are told that God “blessed Noah and his sons”. Therefore, down through the ages even up until now, God has always been blessing His children.

Our text this morning reveals to us, the secret of living a blessed life. The secret lies in how we walk, where we stand and where and with whom we sit (Psalm 1:1).

How then can we walk, stand and sit where we can enjoy the blessing of Jehovah in every area of our lives as His children? The answer lies in our memory verse for today. If you desire a blessed life, you must delight in the word of God, and ensure that you meditate of His word at all times.

By delighting and meditating on the word of God, you will not walk in the counsel of the wicked, you will not stand in the path of sinners and you will not sit in the seat of scoffers.

PRAYER: O Lord, teach me to delight daily in your word, and help me to meditate on your word day and night, Amen.
