Topic: “BUILDING INTIMACY WITH GOD THROUGH MEDITATION: JUST A THOUGHT AWAY.”
Text: Psalm 19:12-14
Memory Verse: Psalm 19:14 – “Let the word of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O lord, my strength and my redeemer”.
In actual sense, God is no farther than a thought away from you, if only you will tap into the secret of meditation as a way of building intimacy with God. As Jesus told that woman by the well in John 4:2 – “Believe me, dear woman, the time is coming when it will no longer matter whether you worship the father on this mountain or in Jerusalem”.
In other words, Jesus is telling the woman that engagement with God does not require a physical temple, mountain or synagogue rather; we can grow and develop intimacy with God by developing godly thoughts.
Remember that as a man thinketh, so he is (Proverbs 23:7) so your thought life is key to building intimacy with God. How can you enhance a positive thought? By meditating on the word of God.
David knew that keeping his life away from willful sins and becoming innocent of great transgression will require to repent on his thought (Isaiah 55:2) and meditate on His word day and night(Psalm 1:2).
PRAYER: O Lord, please let the word of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart be acceptable unto you in Jesus name, Amen.
