Topic: “THE OPPOSITE OF BLESSING! ”
Text: Genesis 3:17-19 NKJV
Memory Verse: “Genesis 3:17: “Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’: “Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life”.
The fall of man attracted a curse. He had enjoyed the blessings of the Lord in Chapter 1 Vs 28, as he was to be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth, subdue it and have dominion over it. God did not curse man, as he was made in His image. However, the ground was placed under a curse for his sake!
What God pronounced on the ground was the exact opposite of the blessing. Why? The disobedience of man attracted the curse. Where would man go for deliverance? Who would set him free? That is what necessitated our redemption, through the shedding of blood by the Lamb of God.
Every man born of a woman is subject to this curse. One can only imagine this life under that curse! Have you understood the price the Saviour of our souls has to pay to reverse the curse and restore the blessing? Are you grateful for it? You need to acknowledge, appreciate and appropriate this truth, and it shall set your soul free!
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I am particularly grateful for all You did to redeem me. I do not take it for granted in any way. Help me to make the most of this privilege in Jesus Name, Amen.
