Topic: “THE CANDIDATE OF THE CURSE”
Text: Genesis 4:11-14 NKJV
Memory Verse: Gen 4:13 “And Cain said to the Lord, “My punishment is greater than I can bear!”
Cain’s life attracted a curse from the Lord. By the time the curse landed on him, it was clear that he would not be able to bear it. His words showed that he was crushed by the curse. Actually, it is better not to be alive than to be accursed as such! His world has already crashed. He had to voice it out.
He could not reverse the curse as the blood he shed was speaking contrary to his life. Sin is usually sweet, but the consequence is always bitter! Take heed, lest you provoke a curse from your Creator. Anyone cursed by a man can approach God and be prayed for, and He will grant the request.
Where will anyone cursed by God go? Whom will he or she run to for deliverance?
Actually, that curse on Cain finished him, as it would have been better, if he were dead. Sin invites curses on a man. We are in a time when men do all manner of things and call it different names like a mistake, human limitation; they will say that blood runs in their veins. However, man was born in the image and likeness of Adam. Everyone born of a woman has this tendency to sin. Flee! Do not break the edge, so that the serpent does not bite you! Do not joke with sin.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, I choose to walk in the path of righteousness so that my life is not involved in whatever will cause a curse to come upon me and my household. I receive grace to do only those things that will attract your blessings over my life, Amen.
