Topic:  “The Power of Christ’s death helps us to live victorious lives”

Text:1 Samuel 17:40-58

Memory Verse: 1 Samuel 17:45 – “Then said David to the Philistine   thou comest to me with a sword and with a spear and with a shield: but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Isreal, whom thou has defied”.

Living a victorious life begins with the acceptance of Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.

Believe in His death and resurrection to ransom you and thereafter, let Him take control of your life. For the believer, victory in the game of life is always victory in Jesus. Living a victorious life can only come through intimacy with God. Our sovereign God is the Alpha and the Omega, He is the beginning and the end. It is in Him that we live, in Him we move, in Him we have our being. Ever since the fall of man in the garden of Eden, Satan has constantly thrown devilish challenges at human beings. Satan has made the world that God created and saw was good to become a terrible place for human beings. It is now a place where human beings fight wars day in, day out.

For you to be a winner in this wretched world you must seek the help of the Lord of hosts who can fight the battles of life for you without your lifting a finger. To be a winner you must be in close touch with the one that is all powerful. When David confronted Goliath in our passage of today, he said he did not come with anything but came in the name of the Lord of host, the God of the armies of Israel. Of course the Bible tells us how David won the battle over Goliath. Through this feat the host of Israel defeated the armies of the Philistines as dreadful as they were before.

How are you living your life today? Are you living a victorious life through the provision made available to you by the death of Jesus on the cross? His death has opened the door of a victorious life to you. Will you take advantage of it today? Living a victorious life connotes victory over any challenge of life. Be it physical, spiritual, health-wise and emotional, and even financial. Victory will be yours in the mighty name of Jesus.

PRAYER:  Your death Lord Jesus has made it possible for me to live victoriously in this world. I pray that you will make me depend on you more and more, Amen.
