OCTOBER 01: “GOD’S THOUGHT – OUR ADVANTAGE”

OCTOBER  01, 2025

Topic:  “GOD’S THOUGHT – OUR ADVANTAGE“

Text: Genesis 3:8-19.

Memory Verse:  “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace. Ephesians 1:7.

God’s thought of creating mankind was to have relationship and fellowship with Him. This thought was revealed in Genesis 1:27. “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God, He created him; male and female He created them”. Following this plan, God formed Adam of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. So, Adam and Eve carried the life of God, and they were meant to live with God forever.

Adam and Eve continued in intimate relationship and fellowship with God. They lived according to God’s plan until their temptation by the Serpent. They fell into temptation; they disobeyed God and sinned. Their sin resulted in dis-fellowship from God thereby truncating their ability to live with God forever. From our today’s text, the consequences of their sin resulted in death and eternal separation from God. So, the fall of man through Adam and Eve introduced sin into the world. Soon after the fall, God thought of a redemption plan for mankind, and He immediately announced a promise of redemption in Genesis 3:15 – The “seed of the woman” would crush the serpent’s head”.

The Purpose of the Redemption Plan is to restore the broken relationship between God and humanity, rescue humanity from eternal death (spiritual separation), bring humanity into eternal fellowship with God, and display God’s love, justice, and mercy. Because God knows all things, past, present and future, His decisions are based on complete knowledge, unlike our partial view. When we align with His thoughts and in His redemption plan, we will have eternal life.

Redemption is by ‘grace through faith’, not by human works (Ephesians 2:8 – 9). To this effect, you must believe in Jesus Christ and accept Him as Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9 – 10). You must be intentional to actively live out your faith with fear, deep reverence and respect for God, recognizing His gift of salvation and the responsibility that comes with it.

PRAYER: O Lord, give me grace to Work out my salvation with fear and trembling, and do not allow me and my loved ones to miss eternal life, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
