SEPTEMBER 30: “INVITE THE HOLY SPIRIT”

SEPTEMBER  30, 2025

Topic:  “INVITE THE HOLY SPIRIT“

Text: Acts 2:3-4, 8

Memory Verse:  “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance” – Acts 2:4.

One of the assurances that Christ gave before He departed the flesh is the promise of the help of the Holy Spirit. In John 14:26a “But the comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things.” The active presence of the Holy Spirit in a Christian community breaks all barriers as it reflects the mind of God and His love, ultimately leading to a more Christ-cantered and reconciled community. The Holy Spirit allowing understanding and responding in specific ways and language of each member of the community so that all within the community can remove all barriers and any form of misunderstanding.

In the community, He teaches – guiding believers in understanding God’s words, leading them to apply its teaching to their lives and to overcome obstacles, assisting believers to discern God’s leading to make wise decisions that will further enhance camaraderie while helping them to live out their faith authentically, reflecting Christ’s mind rather than self-opinion which brings love and grace in all they do. This removes barriers of doubt, fear and discouragement which is replaced with boldness and encouragement to speak out in love, the ability to connect with one another finding common agreeable terms of engagement including the wisdom to share their stories, concerns, worries in openness, vulnerability and sincerity which is the tonic for a healthy relationship.

The Holy Spirit helps believers to see others as members of one body, overcoming barriers of prejudices, cultural differences and past hurts, making all to come to the understanding that a church community is not a group of friends you have picked, but a group of brothers and sisters God has picked for you. Would you allow the Holy Spirit to do the perfect work in you and through you to fulfil His desire for His glory and the blessing of His body – the church?

PRAYER: I am yours Lord, I open up to the total infilling of the Holy Spirit and let Him work in me and through me to remove all barriers within His church, Amen.
