MARCH 20: RECOGNIZING OUR LIMITATIONS AND RELYING ON GOD’S POWER

DATE: Friday, 20 March 2026
TOPIC: “RECOGNIZING OUR LIMITATIONS AND RELYING ON GOD’S POWER”
TEXT: 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
MEMORY VERSE:  “But He said to me, my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weaknesses” – 2 Cor. 12:9.

In today’s devotional text, Apostle Paul shares a profound truth that “God’s power is made perfect in weakness.” This statement seems irrational to the world’s way of thinking. A natural worldly person often tries to be strong, independent, and self-sufficient. However, Paul’s words remind us that true strength comes from acknowledging our limitations and relying on God’s power.

Paul the apostle was well educated: a great scholar, a powerful philosopher and an outstanding theologian, a very intelligent and brilliant lawyer who studied under Gamaliel, one of the greatest scholars in the Jewish community. Paul was greatly anointed to the extent that his shadow healed the sick, and other countless miracles God performed through him. These qualities in Paul were enough to make him feel like a superman, but God reminded him that he is still human by allowing him to be afflicted with an incurable sickness.

Beloved, it takes a lot humility to recognize and acknowledge one’s limitations and weaknesses. Be humble enough to accept that you are not the best among others. You may be a great preacher or teacher, but not the best dancer. You may be the most beautiful and handsome, but you are not the tallest. You may be the richest man or woman in your community, but you cannot fix your cars. By God’s design, there is always a limitation in every human, and such limitation is allowed by God to enable us stay humble. Therefore, whatever the limitation may be, God’s grace is sufficient and His power is made perfect in such weakness. Staying humble and relying always on God enables Him to manifest His grace in and through us.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, help me to be humble enough to always depend on you in everything I do in Jesus’ name, Amen.
