MAY 02 : “COMPROMISE IN LEADERSHIP”

DATE: Saturday 02 May  2026
TOPIC:  “COMPROMISE IN LEADERSHIP”

TEXT: Exodus 32:1-10

MEMORY VERSE: “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.” – 1 Corinthians 16:13

Aaron is a brother to Moses. He was the one God picked to help Moses in the mission of leading the children of Israel out of Egypt. He did this as long as Moses was there. Immediately Moses was called up to Mount Sinai to collect the tablet of Ten Commandments, Bro. Aaron’s weakness of pleasing people showed up. The people came to him asking for a god to lead them, saying that they did not know what had happened to Moses.

In vs. 2 of our text for today, Aaron made no attempt as a leader to discourage the people from making an image, or to persuade them to wait a little bit more to see if Moses would come soon. He immediately asked them to bring their gold and he carved an image in the shape of a calf, totally misleading the people. He further led them away from God into idol worshipping, by building an altar in front of the image and proclaiming a feast to the Lord. This got out of hand and the feast turned into a wild party of drinking and immoral activities.

He missed it when he yielded to the pressure from the people, from pleasing the people, it degenerated into idol worshipping and sexual immorality. One thing led to the other. As believers and leaders, we should be able to stand and shine our light boldly in our world. May God help us to do this in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER: I receive boldness to stand for Jesus, regardless of any situation in Jesus mighty name, Amen.
