JUNE 14: “MORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND REWARDS FOR FAITHFULNESS”

DATE: Sunday 14 June  2026
TOPIC“MORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND REWARDS FOR FAITHFULNESS

TEXT: Nehemiah 7:1-4

MEMORY VERSE:   “His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” Matthew 25:21

To the glory of God and the shame of Satan, Nehemiah’s mission of rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem was completed. However, there was more to be done. The city needed leadership, security, mobilization and spiritual revival. The starting point was to put someone in charge. “Now it came to pass, when the wall was built and I had set up the doors and the porters and the singers and the Levites were appointed, That I gave my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the ruler of the palace, charge over Jerusalem: for he was a faithful man, and feared God above many.”

The man worthy to be put in charge of the renewing the City of Jerusalem was ‘a faithful man, that feared God above many.’ “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much…”

Let us live a life of consistent faithfulness and God will give us bigger responsibilities and rewards that are ‘exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us…’

PRAYER: O Lord, give us the grace to be consistently faithful in our daily lives, that we may be found worthy of bigger responsibilities and rewards, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
