TOPIC:  “LUST – WHY PURITY STILL MATTERS”

TEXT: 2 Corinthians 11:2

MEMORY VERSE:  “I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him” – 2 Corinthians 11:2 NIV.

So, what is God’s desire for your body?

The Bible says a man leaves his father’s house and becomes one with his wife (Genesis 2:24). Bible math says one plus one is equals to one. That is not just physical—it is deep, spiritual and intentional.

In Genesis 2 God says, “It is not good for man to be alone” so he gave him a companion, a helpmate. The bible says he who finds a wife has found favour from God. These show God’s intentionality towards physical intimacy; it is God approved, and God designed. God created intimacy with purpose, not carelessly.

God’s desire for your body is that it should be kept Holy, I am sure we all know that, but the real question is why? Today, purity is often mocked. Being a virgin is seen as outdated or even foolish. So, the question becomes: why should I keep myself?

The answer is simple—so you can experience intimacy the way it was meant to be.

A bride wears white on her wedding day to present herself pure to her husband whom she is to be joined with. God himself presents the church as his bride and consistently, Christ urges her to remain pure, to remain holy until His coming so that we (the Church) may be perfected in true intimacy with Christ.

True intimacy is beautiful and rare. And many people may never fully experience it, not because it does not exist, but because it was approached the wrong way.

Why should I keep my body pure? Why continue to keep my marriage pure? truth is so that you may enjoy the true essence of sex and intimacy. There is something powerful about giving yourself fully, without comparison, without history, without divided pieces (Proverbs 5:15-17).

However, understand this: one choice leads to life and depth, the other leads to regret and weight.

The question is not “why should I not?” The real question is: “what am I preserving for something greater?”

In the next part, we will talk about something just as important—mercy for those who feel they have already gone too far.

PRAYER: God, sanctify me through and through. May my whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
