Topic: HOW TO DEVELOP SPIRITUAL SENSITIVITY 3

Text: Heb. 10:25

Memory Verse: Heb. 10:25 – “not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching”.

It is very important to appreciate the fact that God has provided the Church to provide fellowship, nurture, and edification so that a believer can grow into maturity. The Christian life cannot be lived alone. Each of us is a member of Christ’s Body and no member exists in isolation.

The writer of Hebrews in our text today exhorts believers not to forsake assembling together, but to ensure they are exhorting one another always. God desires that through the Church, the manifold wisdom of Grace and Revelation will be made manifest both to believers and unbelievers. For this reason, the Church plays a significant role in the spiritual progress of a believer. No wonder the apostles in the early Church were constantly meeting together. Paul equally instructed Timothy to “Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”(2 Timothy 2:22).

It is crucial for us, as believers, to follow this useful instruction from the Scriptures. If there is anything a believer must not joke with, it is the fellowship of the brethren. Fellowshipping with other believers affords us the opportunity of developing our spiritual strength, grace and favour. Fellowshipping with other believers in Church fellowship and other spiritual gatherings helps a man to be more spiritually sensitive. Beloved, how consistent and committed are you to this? Do you enjoy being in God’s Presence with other believers or you just see it as an obligatory religious rite? Let me counsel you today to look for a Bible believing Church and if you have found one already, be committed to their meetings, because that is an important determinant of your Spiritual progress.
