June 14: HOW TO DEVELOP SPIRITUAL SENSITIVITY 2

We started yesterday by looking at how to develop one’s Spiritual Sensitivity through prayer. Today we are going to be considering the second leg which is the Word of God. It is worthy of emphasis that God desires us to be spiritually sensitive. He wants the antenna of ever believer to always pick the signals of His instruction, correction and rebuke. One of the key instruments with which He accomplishes this is His Word. 

In our text, Paul in his letter to Timothy exposed the importance of God’s Word. He says “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,..” The Word of God is God’s inspiration. The Word of God carries the heart and the desires of God for us. It is profitable for doctrine (teaching), rebuking, correction, and instruction in righteousness. These four operations are what God performs in the heart of every believer through the instrumentality of the Scriptures. In other words, God makes a man sensitive through the teaching, the rebuke, the correction and the instruction of His Word. This makes the Word of God occupy a strategic and a crucial place in the life of every believer. It is a tool by which God makes us and our spirit sensitive to the Holy Spirit.

It is imperative therefore, for every bonafide child of the Kingdom to be committed to studying the Scriptures; because a believer’s spiritual sensitivity is directly proportional to their study of the Word of God. The measure of your sensitivity in the things of God is predicated upon your seriousness in the study of His Word. May the Lord grant you the Grace to be committed to this in Jesus’ name.
