Topic: DOING GOOD TO ALL – Giving back to God

Text: Malachi 3:10, Luke 6:38

Memory Verse: Proverbs 3:9-10 (NKJV): “Honour the Lord with your possessions, And with the first-fruits of all your increase; So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.”

In the current situation in Nigeria, it is important that we remember to give back to God. Giving back to God is not just about monetary contributions or material possessions, but it is about recognizing that all we have comes from Him and that we are called to steward our resources in a way that honour Him.

Proverbs 3:9-10 reminds us to honour the Lord with our wealth and the first fruits of all our crops. When we give to God, we are acknowledging that He is the provider of all that we have and that we trust Him to meet all our needs. When we honour God with our resources, we open ourselves up to His blessings and provision. He promises to fill our barns to overflowing and pour out blessings that we cannot contain.

Malachi 3:10 also reminds us to bring the whole tithe into the storehouse. Tithing is not just a financial obligation, but it is an act of obedience and trust in God. When we tithe, we are putting God first in our lives and trusting Him to provide for all our needs.

Luke 6:38 also reminds us that when we give, we will receive in abundance. God rewards those who are faithful in their giving. He promises to pour out blessings in measure that are greater than we can imagine.

Let us remember to give back to God with a cheerful heart, trusting in His provision and blessings. Let us not give out of obligation or compulsion, but out of a desire to honour and obey God.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your provisions in our lives. Help us to honour you with our resources and trust in your provision for all our needs. We ask that you continue to bless our nation and provide for those in need. We ask for your spirit of Wisdom and Discernment to know how best to use our resources to bring glory to your name. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
