Topic: MAKE ROOM FOR GOD: GATES II
Text: : PSALM 24: 7-10
Memory Verse: Eph 6: 12a; 13a: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood; Wherefore take unto you the whole amour of God”.
Gates are the places of battles and embattlement. The place where we are buffeted and plummeted by Satan, the chief adversary of our soul with the intent to break the amour of the Christian! Because of the importance of who control the gates, Satan is relentless and uses his four demonic attackers namely principalities, powers, rulers of darkness of this world and wicked spirts in heavenly places. [Eph 6:12].
These invisible yet tangible spirits and enemies of righteousness are experienced masters of lies, deceptions and evil strategies with thousands of years of experience in dealing with humans. Therefore, our limited understanding as mortals can hardly scratch its arsenal!
When we “Make Room for God” through Christ, we can deploy a superior power and wisdom of ages that would outsmart Satan at all times and uncommon strategy that cannot be fathomed! As written in 1 Cor 2:8 – Had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory. Our victory in Christ is assured. In John 16:33, He stated that we should be of good cheer, ‘I have overcome the world’.
If we give Him room, He gives us ‘Oil of the Spirit’. Oil in the bible represents the Holy Spirit. Just as gladiators and wrestlers in battle rub a large dose of oil on their bodies to make them slippery, with goal to escape the grabbing, snares, entanglement and traps of the enemy, so we must become so filled with the spirit that we become slippery in the hands of the adversary. Luke 11:13b -how much more shall your heavenly father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask?
Ask for a fresh in filling of the Holy Spirit today that you may be able, with the help of the Spirit escape the snares of the devil and his cohorts.
Prayers:
Father, I ask for a fresh outpouring of your Spirit from on High. Grant me Power as promised that “ye shall receive power after the Holy Spirit has come upon you!” May the Holy Spirit reveal the snares ahead of me that I may live a victorious Christian life that pleases God and returns praises to Him. In Jesus name. Amen
Pray until you pray – D.M. Mcintyre
