AUGUST 12 “OUTCOMES OF INTIMACY IN THE CHURCH – PEACE”

Another evidence of the outcomes of intimacy in the Church is Peace. Peace means freedom from disturbance; and tranquillity while peace scripturally signifies a state of well-being, wholeness and harmony with God, oneself, and others. It is a concept that includes tranquillity, prosperity, and a right relationship with God.

The Bible emphasizes that God provides peace as a blessing, especially when we walk in His ways. We can also experience inner peace – a state of tranquillity and serenity that comes from faith and trust in God.

A close relationship with God, as demonstrated in Scripture promotes a sense of security and well-being even amidst challenges. This peace stems from the comfort of God’s presence, His guidance, and the assurance of His love. It extends both inwardly, providing contentment and stability and outwardly, serving as a powerful witness to the world. Pure, peaceable relationships are important to God, he will not lead us to hinder peace and unity in the body of Christ. Romans 12:18 declares “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

God is love and has loved His people with everlasting love. He is the author and donor of spiritual and eternal peace, and has called us to peace, and expects and requires it among us and all Men. Matthew 5:9 declares “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” The Church, as a community of believers, is called to embody reconciliation and peace, both within its membership and in its interactions with the world. As the Lord continues to grant us His gracious presence, the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard our hearts and our minds and unite us. With this, nothing will be more appreciated and desirable than this.

PRAYER: Dear Father, you have promised us your peace even in times of trouble. May we enjoy your peace within and without in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
