Topic: “ENJOYING GOD’S PROTECTION II”

Text: Psalm 91:14-15

Memory Verse: “Because he loves me, says the Lord, I will rescue him…” – Psalm 91:14

The issue of our protection from the troubles of this life is a combined partnership. There is the place of God and there is the role we must play. We must battle alongside God to stay protected. While God does the great work of fighting for us and offering us His covering, we also have the part of lifting the shield of faith over our minds, and our hearts. We are to hold unto the word of God, reminding ourselves of who He is – our Strong Tower, Refuge, Redeemer, Shepherd etc. We are to repeat this to ourselves over and over until it gets into us.

Beloved, it is the will of God that you enjoy His everlasting shield over you, but you must know that this provision has been made for you in Christ Jesus and know also what you must do to take advantage of it. Exercising your faith around this revelation helps to build the needed strength in you that would keep your heart at rest in the m

We want to further look at the recommendations of the Psalmist on how we could best position ourselves in order to fully enjoy the protective covering of the Lord. Please bear in mind that it is the will of God for us as His covenant children to live a peaceful and happy life, and our security and safety are essential elements of this happy life.

The Psalmist outlines three things the righteous do which position them to fully enjoy God’s security – they love God, they acknowledge Him, and pray to Him earnestly. To know God is the beginning point for the three things mentioned in this text. You cannot love, acknowledge or pray to God effectively without knowing Him; and this knowledge is made primarily through His son Jesus Christ, and then through a diligent interaction with His word. The knowledge of God that we gain endears Him to us and draws us much closer to Him. To love God is to put Him first in all things – Mark 12:30, Matt 6:33. Our love for God must be undivided. When you truly love God, He becomes the object of your everyday thoughts and desire. It is this desire that makes you to call to Him earnestly in prayer with an expectation to receive His favorable response or attention. If your love for God leads to your obeying Him and keeping His word, be assured that He too will keep you no matter what trouble you fall into. If your love for God makes you to acknowledge and proclaim him everywhere you go, you leave Him with no option but to acknowledge you also as His own and take full responsibility for your safety and general well-being. Again, as you round off your meditation, it may be necessary that you check the condition of your heart and be sure you truly love and acknowledge God. This may be a good point to speak with Him about so that you can re-dedicate yourself to Him.

Prayer: Lord, you know me, help me to renew my love for you, acknowledge you and stay connected to you. Amen.

idst of so many threatening voices bombarding you on every side.

There is power in what we say whether positive or negative. David confessed God as one who delivers the upright in heart. If you align your heart with Him and with His word, stay connected to Him through Jesus, and allow the righteousness of Jesus to run through you freely, then you will enjoy God’s supernatural protection everywhere you go. Even if you suffer any attacks here on earth, you are sure of being kept from spending eternity in hell. May I charge you right now to check your alignment with God again and make the necessary adjustment as you pray.

Prayer: Commit yourself again to the Lord and ask Jesus to re-establish His righteousness and faith in you.
