Topic: “LOVE REVEALS THE WAYS OF GOD
Text: : 1 JOHN 2:1-6

1 John 2:6 “The one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.”
Jesus made a profound statement when He said “I am the way” (John 14:6). The “way of the Lord” was a concept familiar to Jesus’ Jewish listeners. Because even in Deut. 5:33 the Lord said, “You shall walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live, and that it may go well with you, and that you may live long in the land that you shall possess.”
By implication, there is a way of God, the way of God is characterized by love joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Gal. 5:16,22). God’s ways are contrary to the ways of men, that is why Proverbs 14:12 says, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
Jesus further said in Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and few find it.” The way that Jesus is pointing us to, is a way that leads to life in Christ Jesus.
As we step out today, the way of God is revealed in Christ Jesus, it is the way of love, peace and gentleness. Follow that way, and it will lead to life. Stay on the way of God as you go about your business today.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, we come before you today to pray for grace to walk in the way that you have revealed to us. Help us to walk in your way even when others do not join us. We receive the grace to stay on the way of life, Amen.
