Topic: “BENEFITS OF INTIMACY WITH GOD: FRUIT BEARING”
Text: John 15:1-8
Memory Verse: “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” John 15:7, NIV
There are high expectations whenever people pray and they desire that their prayers be answered speedily. God answers prayers speedily based on an intimate relationship because you pray from understanding and according to God’s mind. Intimacy with God reveals His mind to us; we get to know what He has in mind, then we ask accordingly. Answers to prayers become easy. When you grow in your intimacy with God, you will get to know Him better and better because He will reveal Himself to you more and more. Spending quality time in His presence will also keep you refreshed and energetic to bear fruit.
To be fruitful in everything you do in life, you have to prioritize the word of God and communing with Him in order to remain connected. You have to be intentional about your quiet time with your maker. Giving Him the first place in your life is the only way that will make you productive and fruitful. Intimacy pays off in every relationship, and it makes the bonding stronger.
It will signify that God lives in you when you bear fruit, and your life will be attractive to others. If you are not productive, you are likened to a branch that is cut off, thrown away to wither. Any tree that does not produce fruit will be good for firewood. If we do not remain in God and Him in us, our lives will be meaningless and will not add value to where God has placed us.
It is quite interesting to know that drawing from the source keeps you nourished. When your life is nourished, you will remain ever fresh, and your life will bring glory to the Father by being fruitful. Do you bring glory to the Lord where you are? Being fruitful is the mark that distinguishes you from others. Fruit bearing becomes natural to a man that walks closely with God because He supplies all the required nutrients to bear fruits. Fruitfulness in prayers, fruitfulness in evangelism, fruitfulness in giving just to mention a few. May the Lord grant you grace to stay connected to God by pursuing an intimate relationship with Him, Amen.
PRAYER: O Lord, I thank You for Your promise that if I abide in You and Your Word abides in me, whatever I ask will be done. Lord, grant me the grace to remain connected to You now and always in Jesus’ name, Amen.
