Topic: “BENEFITS OF INTIMACY WITH GOD: THE SECRET OF EXPLOITS”
Text: DANIEL 11:32
Memory Verse: “Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits” Daniel 11:32
It is God’s prime desire for every child of His to be strong and do exploits in life and destiny. God never intended for any of His children to be weak as a factor in God’s purpose and agenda. Peter in his epistle wrote about the blessed identity of the redeemed when he says: But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light: 1 Peter 2:9. This means that, by redemption, believers have been commissioned for God’s praise and heroic exploits. However, for this to happen, a strong relationship with God is vital, because the determinant matrix of any exploit in life is a direct function of our relationship with God. The more intimate and progressive a believer’s relationship with God is, the more exploit such a believer will do for God in his/her generation.
In our text today, we saw a man named Daniel. One of the greatest characters in the Old Testament who sustained his relevance in four successive government administrations. A man who was known for his high level of wisdom and knowledge in literature. A man who understood and could interpret all manners of dreams and visions. A man who went to the lion’s den and came out unhurt. A man who sought God and to whom God revealed His deliverance agenda to Jerusalem from Babylon. A man who saw the visions of the events that will happen in the last days.
Meanwhile, Daniel himself gave us the secret of all these exploits when he says…..but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. (Daniel 11:32). What a challenging statement this is! The implication of this is that Knowing God with a deep intimacy is the secret of strength and exploits in life. Please let us note again that your heroic exploits in destiny is predicated on your intimacy with God. This is so important.
Beloved, do your best to see that nothing tampers with your relationship with God because that is the lifeline of your destiny. The more of God you know, the more of His goodness and greatness you enjoy. You cannot know God deeply until you become deliberate in seeking fellowship with Him. Do you have deep intimacy with God or are you are just a nominal Christian? Please bow your head and talk to God.
PRAYER: Lord, I submit myself to you. Give me strength to pursue a living relationship with you. Help me to be consistent in my walk with you, Amen.
