Topic: “BENEFITS OF INTIMACY WITH GOD – PEACE IN THE MIDST OF TROUBLE”
Text: Psalm 91:7
Memory Verse: “A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you” – Psalm 91:7.
The journey of life is full of ups and downs. One day it is hunger and another day full with surplus. Some people have come up with a philosophy that the journey of life is not a straight line but full of curves. Our Lord Jesus Christ in His word to us in John 16:33, says, “I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take courage; I have overcome the world!” It is only in Christ Jesus that faith can sing genuinely in trouble and trial. Outside Christ, life is full of crisis and rejection.
What people do in the face of life’s troubles are unimaginable. Many people have committed suicide, while some sold their own biological children and some offered their children for money ritual. However, those who are in a deep relationship with Christ Jesus enjoy His peace in Crisis. Although they may not have full understanding of what is going on, but they know whom they have believed and what He is capable of doing.
Job was a man like us who lost all his children within twenty-four hours (24 hours) and all his properties, but he still bowed in worship of his God. Indeed, faith still sings in trouble. While many people are cursing God, abandoning their place of fellowship, those who are in intimate relationship with Him forge ahead in their pains as if they are not pained. Mind you, it is not that they are in denial of their experience or they are pretending, but they have come to know their God for who He is. The power of intimacy with God.
Beloved, you need deeper relationship with God more than ever before. The end of all things is closer than when we firstly believed. We have been invited to come closer and we cannot but honour His invitation. “Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded” James 4:8 How is your relationship with God? How intimately connected are you to Him? Do you enjoy His peace in the troubling circumstances of life? Faithful is our God who has promised and He will not allow any of own to be put to shame. May the Lord strengthen and sustain you as we journey on in 2025, Amen
PRAYER: Lord, I release my heart unto you for an intimate relationship. Help my heart to draw unto you closely and cause me to enjoy your peace in Jesus’ name, Amen.
