Topic: “THE REWARD OF ALIGNMENT“
Text: Genesis 24:1-9
Memory Verse: “Abraham was now very old, and the Lord had blessed him in every way.” Genesis 24:1
Nothing is more important in the life of the children of God than becoming fully persuaded that nothing happens in their lives without the hand of God. Abraham’s life is a testament of what God can do with the life of a man who is totally yielded to Him.
Abraham set out on a journey of faith with God. He left all he had and all he knew behind in his home country and followed God. Ordinarily, we look at it that he had lost everything, but a close look at his life shows us that he had gained more than he left behind.
In our text for today, we see the account of Abraham, advanced in age, blessed by God, as the Scripture says, in every way. God was gracious to him; that is why the scripture went further to say in Romans 12:10 that “Whosoever believeth on him shall not be put to shame.” Indeed, the Lord did not allow him to be put to shame. In all ways, Abraham was blessed.
As we step out today, be assured that no one who follows God faithfully will be left stranded. Like Abraham, when you need help, the Lord will show up for you. When your hope is fading, He will rekindle your hope. When your steps are failing, He will hold you, so you do not stumble. Since the Lord did it for Abraham, He will do it for you, too. Just trust Him and always turn to Him at every crossroads of life. Abraham did not leave the stage of life without the assurance that his son Isaac would have a secure home and a generation to continue his legacy. Abraham’s life of alignment culminated in blessing, legacy, and peace. God fulfilled His promises because Abraham remained faithful through trials, tests, and time.
PRAYER: Our Father, we thank you for loving us so much that you watch daily to fulfil your promises to us. Help us, like Abraham, to keep in step with you, to trust you, and be totally yielded to you. May you manifest your grace and your goodness in our lives, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
