Topic: THE PRESENCE OF GOD
Text: Exo. 33:1
Memory Verse:Exo 33:1 – “Then the Lord said to Moses, “Leave this place, you and the people you brought up out of Egypt, and go up to the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, saying, ‘I will give it to your descendants.”
On one of my many trips to Ghana, I met a man in Aflao, a border town in Ghana. We sat side by side in the bus. We stated discussing and I discovered that he knew so much about the church where I was going to have a meeting, but this man did not know the God who owns the church. He knew so much about the Bible, but not the owner of the words itself. He was far away from the presence of God.
In Ex. 33:14, we find a man who understood the importance & need for the Presence of God. He understood it so much that he would not move without Presence of God. Moses said….
“If Your (PRESENCE) does not go with us do not send us up from this place. How will anyone know that You are pleased with your people…unless You go with us. What else will distinguish Your people from all the other people…”
The Presence of God affects every area of our lives! Personal, Professional, Pastoral, Marital, Family, Parental, Grand-Parental every area of our lives!
If we are going to be effective for God, we have to have His Presence. If we are going to grow in God, we have to have His Presence. If we are going to be a Witness for God, we have to have His Presence.
If we walk in His Presence, we walk in the power of God Himself! Knowing the Presence of God is knowing peace, which leads to good health. In our present day and time, we all need the Presence of God.
The Presence of God will lead and guide you. It will protect and comfort you. It will lead you to deeper insight and understanding.
PRAYER: Oh Lord, I desire your presence in my life and in my situation daily. Father let it be and remain my portion even as I follow your precept all the days of my life on earth in Jesus’ name, Amen.
