JULY 26: BEARING GOD’S PRESENCE IN TIMES OF FEAR

In times of trouble, those who know their God stand firm in Him knowing that the storm is only going to last for a little time. The presence of God in them gives them a reassurance that the Lord God is surely with them. Therefore, in the face of fear, they are not perturbed. All they do is call upon Him who is Almighty.

I remember a story I read in a Christian magazine about a drunk man who was on board a flight across the US that went into turbulent weather. The passengers on board were highly disturbed and rather for this drunk man to be troubled, he was just kept demanding more whiskey, until one of the Air Hostesses had to confront him. The man simply said why are you people troubled, God is not a wicked God; He will not want to destroy His anointed one.

When asked what he meant by that. He told them that the world-renowned evangelist, Rev Dr Billy Graham was on board and God would not allow the plane to crash, because He cared for Billy Graham. When they went to the First Class cabin to see Billy, he was asleep. He did not even know their plane had hit a turbulence! Immediately, everything returned to normal. The drunk man responded, “But I told you God is not a wicked God!” When this drunk man saw Dr Billy Graham, he saw God, and he recognized that He is a good God.

When we bear the presence of God, those around us will see it in us and give praises to our Father in heaven. Those who bear His Presence hold on to His word. FEAR NOT!

PRAYER: Father, you have not given me the Spirit of fear, but of love and sound mind. Fear is of the devil and his cohorts. I come against every spirit of fear. I cast you out. You will not stand. You are a false evidence appearing to be real; I render you powerless in Jesus’ name, Amen.
