Topic:  BEARING GOD’S PRESENCE – Embracing God’s Presence  Daily – I

Text:Psalm 139:7-10 (NIV).

Memory Verse: Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? – Psalm 139:7 – “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?”

The thought of continuously bearing God’s presence can feel daunting in our fast-paced, chaotic lives. However, it is this very presence that sets us apart as God’s people, providing comfort and serenity.

Relating with God’s presence means cultivating an awareness that He is with us in every moment. It involves recognizing His hand in our daily routines, work, interactions, and rest. This awareness is about believing and trusting in His constant nearness, not just feeling His presence emotionally.

We can cultivate God’s presence through:

  • Prayer: Begin your day by acknowledging God’s presence. A simple prayer like, “Lord, thank you for being with me today. Help me sense your presence and be aware of your guidance,” can set the tone.
  • Meditation: Reflect on verses that affirm God’s omnipresence, such as Psalm 139, Isaiah 41:10, and Matthew 28:20, which remind you that God is always with you.
  • Gratitude: Throughout your day, take moments to thank God for His presence. Gratitude for daily mercies, a kind word, or an unexpected blessing keeps your heart attuned to God.
  • Solitude: Spend time in quiet reflection or meditation. Jesus often withdrew to solitary places to pray (Luke 5:16). Solitude helps tune out distractions and increases awareness of God’s voice and presence.

Think of times when you felt most aware of God’s presence. What were the circumstances? Ask God to deepen your sensitivity to His presence in both extraordinary and mundane moments.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your constant presence. Help me to grow in awareness of Your nearness and trust in Your guidance. Open my eyes to see You in all aspects of my day and give me a heart of gratitude for Your unfailing companionship. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
