TOPIC: “FALSE ACCUSATIONS FROM FATHER OF FALSEHOOD”
TEXT: Numbers 6:5-9
MEMORY VERSE: “Ye are of your father the devil and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar and the father of it.” John 8:44
You must be aware that Satan, your adversary never gives up. In fact, the more he is defeated, the more desperate he becomes, to sabotage the purpose of God for your life. He has a big bag of tricks and wiles, and he tries new ways and means to make you fall and fail. You must remain vigilant, prayerful and faithful.
Sanballat came up with false allegations that Nehemiah wanted to make himself a king. This was in order to turn the king against him as well as the Jews. This was much more than political intrigue, it was an attempt at mass murder and of course it would also result in the stoppage of the work and the demolition of what has been built.
Nehemiah said to Sanballat “There are no such things done as thou sayest, but thou feignest them out of thine own’ fertile imagination.” Satan is a creative liar and the accuser of the brethren. Sanballat concocted this conspiracy story to create fear, but God’s people will not be discouraged or deterred.
PRAYER: O Lord our God, help us to see through the tricks of the devil in his quest to intimidate or discourage us. Strengthen our hands that we may be able to finish the assignments that you have given us in life, in Jesus name, Amen.
