June 19: DOING GOOD TO ALL – God, Our Ultimate Example

Isn’t it a relief when we search for an example to follow and find one? The typical human heart (fallen Man) is self-serving most of the time, vindictive and full of excuses. As believers in Christ Jesus, our Father knew this and therefore gave us the ultimate gift of His one and only Son, Jesus Christ. The only Son He had, He gave! The gift of our Lord Jesus, as a sacrifice to all, for all time. Jesus was a gift, not only for the Jews, but also for all humanity as stated in John 3:16 “… whosoever believes…”.

In Matthew 5:45 the Lord Jesus Christ speaking about God’s Providence and Generosity to everyone said, “…that ye may be the children of your Father who is in Heaven. For He maketh His sun to rise on evil and the good, and sendeth rain on the just and the unjust”. The Lord rightly observed that sun and rain come from our Creator. Their benefits are irrespective of persons, tribes or tongues, but generally and commonly beneficial to all. No wonder the Scripture confirms in James 1:17 that all good and perfect gifts come from above.

Our Heavenly Father, in sending sun and rain to everyone of His creatures, good and bad, kind and wicked shows to us His children how to extend goodness to all without discrimination. The gift of our Saviour and Salvation is not limited to the Jews alone, praise God! It is for all humanity, where would we be without the saving knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ? We are saved, healed and delivered through the Blood of Christ, so generously made available, by God’s generosity.” It is by grace that you have been saved through faith, not of yourself lest anyone should boast”. Ephesians 2:8-9. Hallelujah!!!
