Topic: Redemption Endues Us with Power From Above
Text: Acts 2:1-4, 37-41
Memory Verse: ““But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the world” – Acts 1:8.
Jesus told His disciples that He would not always be with them physically in this world. However, when He ascends to heaven, the Holy Spirit, which is the Third Person of the Trinity will descend on them and will fill them with power to live in the physical world.
This was fulfilled at Pentecost and it is still being fulfilled in our own time and day. The moment a sinner becomes saved and redeemed, he or she experiences the in filling of the Holy Spirit.
The disciples were together in Jerusalem as they were instructed after the events of persecution, crucifixion and ascension of their Lord and Master Jesus Christ. Immediately the Holy Spirit appeared like tongues of fire, they were emboldened to preach; Peter stood up and addressed all the people present.
Our salvation is to make us bold to preach the gospel. The in-filling of the Holy Spirit in the life of any believer is to enable that Christian live a victorious life on this side of the terrestrial.
The power of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer makes it possible for him to shine and make impact in this world of darkness.
PRAYER: Father, help me to show forth your power through a righteous living in this world in Jesus’ name.
