Topic: “POWER TRANSFER”
Text: John 15:13-17
Memory Verse: “ 2 COR. 5:16 – “So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer”.
The power of God’s love is compelling. It is such that anyone who has experienced it has the responsibility of demonstrating it. Jesus speaking with his disciples described the depth of this love as one laying down his life for his friends. It is practical, sacrificial and genuine love that anyone can ever receive or experience and it is difficult to resist.
This love of God comes with a command to ‘go and do the same’. Jesus says that the only proof of appreciation is the obedience to the call of reproducing the same action as he did. God’s love abhors selfishness but encourages selflessness.
Demonstrating God’s love determines our fruitfulness and our being blessed by Him. God is pleased when we keep this golden rule of love. The power of God’s love is meant to be perpetuated through the recipients and in this way, it is transferred. Jesus described this ‘power transfer’ in John 15:17, when he said, “This is my command: Love each other.”
God is very intentional when he was demonstrating this love with a clear motive of bearing fruits. The power of God’s love is well directed and focused on making ‘servants’ become ‘friends’. It is transformative in nature. May you experience this power anew today.
PRAYER: O Lord, let the power of your love do the transformative work in me today. Help me to show the power of your love to someone you will send my way today, Amen.
