Topic: IT IS FINISHED – II”
Text: John 19:28-30; 1 Peter 2:22-25
Memory Verse: “He Himself bore our sins” in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness; “by His wounds you have been healed”. (1 Peter 2:24 – NIV)
Yesterday, we noted the completion of the works of Christ when He said, “it is finished.” It is also noteworthy that every encounter with Jesus ends any negative narrative because the situation can never remain the same again!
In Mark chapter 5 alone, there were three sets of people whose terrible situations came to an end just by an encounter with The Saviour. Consider the woman bleeding continuously for twelve years, spending her life savings on doctors – going from one physician to the other, yet no solution until a touch ended the “terrible condition” “immediately”! (Mark 5:25-29).
What about that raving lunatic – mad-man? The madness turned him into living among the dead, in a cemetery, right inside graves. Not even chains or shackles could restrain his enormous strength until he encountered the One strong enough to bind the devil (Mark 5:1-5; Mark 3:27). Thereafter, his insanity ended; fully restored to sanity and clothed in Christ’s righteousness, he became an evangelist (Mark 5:20)
Dear Christian, is there anything dead in your life? Health, business, hope etc.? Cheer up, even this will end by an encounter with Jesus (Mark 5:21-23; 35-43). I am glad to announce to you “your suffering is over” (Mark 5:34 NLT); your toiling “all night” in vain is also over (Luke 5:5): just touch Him by faith now.
Has your marriage or relationship failed or is on the brink of failure? Oh, meet the Saviour just as the Samaritan woman at the well did (John 4:16-18), and He will not only heal your marriage, He will heal your spirit (John 4:28-30; 39-42).
No matter how bad your condition is right now, the great Physician, Counsellor, Mighty God, Wonderful, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace is here; waiting for you to come and you will declare, just like He did – It is finished!
PRAYER: Out of the depths of life, I cry to You, Lord Jesus; please hear my prayers and be attentive to me. Heal me, my situations and let me like those before me, rise up and follow You. Amen
