Topic: GOD INVITES FALLEN MAN TO COME
Text: Gen 3: 20 – 24
Memory Verse: “Unto Adam also and to His wife did the Lord God make coats of skins and clothed them.” Gen. 3: 21
As we continue to look at building intimacy with God, today we look at the lives of Adam and Eve after their disobedience. The most crucial need of their lives, was to be clothed and they sewed clothes made out of leaves, but these did not adequately cover them.
Then the Lord God stepped forward and made clothes of skin for them, even though they were in outright is obedience. God’s love for Man was and is so much; that even in his fallen state Man was still cared for by God. He protected them from their feeling of embarrassment. He goes further to invite Man in Isaiah1:18 saying, “come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sin be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they be like crimson, they shall be as wool.” Isa. 1:18
God knows that Man functions at his best when he is intimate with God, so when God invites Man to come, it is for the benefit of Man. All that we have to do is to heed God’s call.
Jesus re-echoed this call when he said in Matt. 11:28 “Come unto me all you that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.”
Intimacy with God, leads to rest from labour and heavy burdens. Are you troubled or burdened in any way? Your salvation lies in running to Jesus. He will take good care of you.
Even if you do not have any burden, intimacy with God makes you fulfill the purpose of your creation. The closer you are to God, the more successful your life will be.
Therefore, heed the counsel in Isa.1:19 that says, “if you are willing and obedient you will eat the good of the land.” Be willing to be intimate with God and be obedient to His call.
Prayer:
Thank you Father for inviting me to come, even in whatever state I am. I am willing to be intimate with you, open my eyes to know you in Jesus’ name. Amen
