MAY 31: The Eternal Lamp

MAY 31, 2024

Topic: The Eternal Lamp

Text: Revelation 21:22-26

Memory Verse:   Revelation 21:23 ” The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp “.

We see in today’s text, a vision of the New Jerusalem, the heavenly city where God dwells among His people. God and the Lamb are its temple and the city is filled in the radiant glory of God as the Eternal Lamp.

This Eternal Lamp stands for several profound truths:
It tells of Gods Divine Presence. God Himself is the source of light and presence in the New Jerusalem, signifying His omnipresence and constant communion with His people.

It represents the perpetual light, which signifies the absence of darkness or shadows. In God’s presence, there is no room for darkness, sin, or sorrow. It is a reminder of the eternal joy, peace, and fulfillment found in Him.

It is a symbol of guidance and revelation. As a lamp guides one’s steps in the darkness, the Eternal Lamp serves as a beacon of truth and revelation. In God’s light, we find wisdom, understanding, and direction for our lives.

It also stands for unity and inclusion. Its light shines upon all nations and peoples. It is God’s inclusive love for all believers from every corner of the earth, gathered together in His presence.

As you make your journey through the day’s chores, be reminded of God’s eternal presence, His unending light, and the hope you have in dwelling with Him forever.

Prayer: Lord, let your salvation grace propel me into righteousness and holiness at all times so that when my assignment here ends, I will not miss out on being in your eternal presence, AMEN.
