Topic: HONOURING GOD IN THANKSGIVING- FOR OUR ETERNAL HOME
Text: John 14: 1 – 3.
Memory Verse: “And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also “John 14: 3.
Our memory verse draws our attention to Jesus Christ’s promise of going to prepare a place for us his children and He will come back to take us home, so that we will be with him forever. What a great and wonderful promise. This promise should agitate every mind and lead us to ask the question – where are we going to spend eternity? It is a question that everyone will have to answer.
We have a glimpse of heaven through John’s revelation on the Island of Patmos. There will be one nation, one language and one king. You will not need to lock your doors at night, for there will be no burglars! Your home will have neither bars nor gates (Ezekiel 38:11). Nor will there be any quarrelsome neighbours, or people nursing petty grievances and jealousies! So complete would be the transforming power of the Holy Spirit that the principles of heaven would be enshrined in every heart. By beholding Jesus Christ, everyone will become changed to His likeness. Will You Be Ready? Such is the heavenly home that Jesus Christ has planned for His redeemed. He wants you to be there and share eternal happiness with Him. God should therefore be honoured in thanksgiving as we await the fulfilment of this promise.
To our friends who have not accepted Jesus Christ, “The Spirit and the Bride say, “ Come” And let him who is thirsty come, let him who desires take the water of life without price “(Rev. 22:17). Time is running out. All the promised signs of history’s approaching climax have come to pass or are even now being fulfilled before our eyes. The end of all things is at hand. Christ is near you now. By His Spirit, He is speaking to you as you read these lines. Call upon Him, tell Him that you accept His gracious offer and want to spend eternity with Him.
Prayer: Our heavenly Father, we honour you in thanksgiving for our eternal home. We ask for grace to finish well here on earth so that we can be with you eternally, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
